ABUJA C.J. Beathard Jersey , Nov. 25 (Xinhua) -- A Nigeria-born cyclist on Tuesday said he was set to embark on a 1,000 km journey from Ghana to Nigeria to raise funds for the victims of the Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) and the fight against the pestilence.
Yemi Oyekoya said that he hopes the journey, which will begin on Dec. 19 in the Ghanian capital Accra and end in the Nigerian commercial hub Lagos on Jan. 15, 2015, would generate more awareness in the fight against the dreaded disease plaguing some countries in West Africa.
"The fight against the Ebola disease has been made possible by voluntary contributions from governments Ahkello Witherspoon Jersey , private organizations, non-governmental organizations and individuals.
"This is why I will be using this platform to generate funds for non-governmental organizations that have been involved in catering for the affected areas," Oyekoya told the official News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos.
Oyekoya's passion for cycling has been burning like a flame since he got involved in traveling on bicycle to different countries in 2007.
"For me I love cycling and journeying through different countries. It is something that gives me great pleasure, especially seeing other countries and meeting diverse cultures," he said.
