It s really hard to understate just how much Boost has adidas superstars changed adidas. The cushioning mixed with amazing designs catapulted the three stripes from an afterthought to the topic of discussion among sneakerheads. Yes, Kanye West had a lot to do with that, but let s not underestimate how much that was also because Yeezy Boosts are pretty damn comfy to walk in because of Boost. None of this was going on in 2012 and The U was certainly not an adidas school at the time, but they picked the right moment to make the jump that s for sure.
While the color palette available right now on mi adidas is admittedly limited (you only have three adidas boost options available for the quarter and they are pretty generic), those who go the mi adidas route can also use a Gold Package which gives the sneaker an elegant look with a gold quarter, overlay and adidas spezial lining. The D Rose 4 mi adidas also has translucent outsole options for those who want to go for the icy look.
But the world has also changed since the last time we convened to witness the launch of a new Air Jordan back in 2014. Under Armour has emerged and in their camp are athletes that simply win. Kanye West moved to adidas and dominated the sneaker conversation at every turn. Even Jordan Brand has changed with adidas los angeles a greater focus on retros through their remastered initiative in an effort to keep up and stay relevant. Have we finally reached a point where a new Air Jordan just doesn t move the needle anymore?
Nope, because in spite of adidas and Kanye successfully reinventing themselves , the world still stops for the next Air Jordan. It may not have the co-sign of the Kardashian-West social media empire, but every major news outlet in the world and every sneakerhead will have something to say about the new Air Jordan, especially one that hits a milestone such as the 30. It will be talked about, dissected and chances are, people won t like it . But people didn t like the Air Jordan 20 when it dropped a decade ago, but adidas eqt it sold very well when it got a retro release last year.
